Welcome to ImmPolitic, the National Immigration Forum’s blog. Here we will comment on current developments in immigration policy and politics from the perspective of a Washington-based, national pro-immigrant organization.

This blog will absorb content that has up to now been posted in our series, Facts on Immigration and some of what we report in our Immigration Policy Updates. In this space, we will also occasionally announce new content on our site, including podcasts of our periodic telephonic press briefings on current immigration policy topics. You will be able to download these mp3 recordings and listen to them on your computer or mp3 player. Recent briefings that we organized (sometimes in collaboration with colleague organizations) include a briefing on mandatory electronic employment verification schemes and one on the politics of immigration, to review one more event that pokes a hole in the conventional wisdom, the defeat of immigration hard-liner Jim Oberweiss in Illinois’ 14th Congressional District special election.
